Grilled Vegas Strip Steak with Steak Spice Rub

Steak Spice Rub
- 1 tbsp kosher salt
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp freshly ground pepper
- 2 tsp dried thyme
Steaks
- 2 Vegas Strip Steaks
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- kosher salt
- freshly ground pepper
Make the Spice Rub
Combine the kosher salt, onion powder, garlic powder, pepper and thyme in a small bowl. Store unused steak rub in an air-tight container.
Grill the Steaks
Remove the steaks from the fridge, about 30- 60 minutes before cooking.
Preheat the grill to high heat.
Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel. Drizzle with oil and season the steaks on both sides with the steak spice rub.
Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired temperature and they are nicely browned.
Transfer the steaks to a plate and loosely tent with foil to rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
Season to taste with salt and pepper. Slice the steaks against the grain and serve.
