Game Day Snack Board

Whether you’re into watching football or not, we bet you’re cheering for the delicious food! Because everyone LOVES Super Bowl Food!

Not sure what to serve for the next game day or Super Bowl? Why not try incorporating all your favourite dips and appetizers into one indulgent, Game Day Snack Board?

There is a lot of variety on this platter, so to keep this easy-breezy we’ve incorporated some prepared dips, along with simple-to-make appetizers.

Heatherlea's Beef Chili

Here are some of our favourite Super Bowl Food for a Game Day Snack Board that everyone will enjoy:

Chili is a popular option for game day, so we made it the focus of our platter! Adding tortilla chips to the platter turns chili into a hot, dipable appetizer (and leaves your guests with enough room to enjoy all the other nibbles on your snack board).

Pigs in a Blanket
  • Pigs in a Blanket

Made with Alderwood Farms All Beef Hot Dogs and prepared puff pastry. Try serving with Caplansky Mustard.

Mad Mexican Chips & Dip at Heatherlea Farm Shoppe
    • Pulled Pork Bites

These are easy to assemble and the pulled pork can be made well in advance (ask your butcher for a bone-in pork shoulder roast). Mix the pulled pork with your favourite BBQ sauce, such as Kozlik’s or Wildly Delicious. Roll out the prepared puff pastry and cut into squares. Add a couple spoonful’s of pulled pork in a diagonal, fold opposite corners to the centre, and pinch to secure where the edges meet. An egg wash can help secure the edges of the pastry.

      Jalapeno Poppers
      • Jalapeño Poppers

This classic appetizer was made with jalapeños, cream cheese, sharp cheddar, bacon, red peppers, garlic, chili powder, and S&P.  We used finely chopped bacon inside our poppers…a time-saver if you don’t want to wrap the outside of each jalapeno!

      • Looking to add more? How about these finger foods from Pegrolls.

How to Assemble Your Game Day Board

      1. Use a large surface to serve your game day food on such as a tray, board, or platter. Don’t have anything large enough? A baking sheet covered in parchment would work well too.

      2. Gather various sized bowls to keep messy foods contained such as dips and spreads. You can get creative using bread, vegetables, or squash as a bowl by hollowing out the center.  We used a football-shaped loaf of Fred’s Bread to contain some hot chili for the center of our snack board.

      3. Cook the appetizers and warm the dips.

      4. While the food is warming, scoop the cold dips into bowls and arrange on the platter.

      5. Arrange the hot foods on the platter.

      6. Fill in the empty spaces with chips and crackers. Vegetables, fruits, and nuts are great fillers too.

      7. Garnish with herbs and enjoy!
